SOCIAL STUDIES: LEIGH PATTERSON // PHILOSOPHER, VISIONARY + TRUTH SEEKER

Connecting to others begins with connecting to yourself. Leigh Patterson uses her work to dive deeper into the building blocks of what it means to be human and how to communicate that personally, creatively + professionally.  Not to mention being the founder of THE MOON LISTS - something we are excited to carry in our NOTO Flagship Shop.  She helps one remember who they are in this journal, while taking thing slowly and sitting with ones personal expansion.  Read more about her quest for meaning and intention below.

Who are you?
Leigh Patterson - Founder, The Moon Lists  - Founder of Editorial + Creative Studio LUCCA

Why do you make your work?
Specifically to the Moon Lists — it started as a way for me to work through my own version of seeing the world, remaining accountable to my goals, and developing perspective. Now, it’s become an outlet for connection and discovering the ideas and wants that connect a breadth of disparate individuals. I love working on projects that illuminate individual, unseen voices and unearth quietly profound ideas.

What do you believe in?
Showing up.

Name one thing you say no to?
My friend’s kids’ birthday parties (sorry).

And one thing you say yes to?
A text from a friend to grab a last minute drink, 15 minutes from now.

What change would you like to see?
Assumed acceptance

Name one thing that makes you happy?
Trampolines

How would you describe your personal routine?
Casual

What did you want to be as a child?
A gymnast, then a writer

Can you remember one solid piece of advice you've gotten for the growth of your work?
That what you want is and will evolve, so tend to it.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
Ram Dass or Lizzo (ideally together!)

Who is one person in culture that you feel is making positive and inspiring change?
This is hard! So many! But to name one THING…I’m intrigued by the work coming out of Google Empathy Labs
