Step inside the world of Metahaiku, where creativity lives, breathes, and basks in the golden glow of a dreamy Los Angeles loft. Metahaiku is the brainchild of Amy & Davy—two artists, thinkers, and makers who believe that a space should feel as good as it looks (and let’s be honest, theirs looks really good). What started as a shared creative workspace turned into an internet sensation, capturing the hearts of design lovers and dreamers alike. Their world is filled with music, the scent of home-cooked meals, and an effortless blend of functionality and whimsy.
At NOTO, we believe in creating with our people—our real community of artists, friends, and creatives who inspire us every day. Collaborations aren’t just about products; they’re about storytelling, connection, and bringing something meaningful into the world together. That’s why this partnership with Metahaiku feels so special. It’s a celebration of home, creativity, and the small moments that make a space truly yours.

NOTO: Who are you individually and together as metahaiku?
Metahaiku: We’re Amy & Davy. We make things - we’re not so serious - we live in Los Angeles. Davy likes running long distances, Amy likes sewing big things.
N: What is Metahaiku and how did it start and how did you come up with the name?
M: Metahaiku started as a shared workspace that came from us newly living together and needing a little extra space for creative endeavors. We came up with the name on a walk in our neighborhood as Davy was trying to explain this to Amy:
What started as a workspace became a viral internet moment as *likely* a result of the growing popularity of post-COVID interior design interneting. We were just having fun.
N: How important are the aesthetics of a home, and what does it mean to you?
M: How a home feels is way more important than how it looks. As long as you’re surrounded by things you love that’s enough. With a healthy dose of functionality and whimsy.
N: Describe how our collaboration Room Spray makes you feel?
M: Cozy, centered, at home (even when we’re not).
N: Where do you want to use the spray the most?
M: This spray is going everywhere; pillowcases, steamy shower, living room, linen cabinet, anywhere Davy leaves his smelly running clothes around the apartment.
N: How do you fill the ambiance of your space, what are you listening to, cooking?M: Amy’s mom sent us some of her favorite records; the ones getting the most plays these days are The Talking Heads, Steely Dan, Getz/Gilberto, and Stevie Wonder. We’re always cooking and experimenting with different ways of making tofu, rice, and veggies. Our current addiction: Nerd Gummy Clusters (bc balance).
N: Who would be the perfect guests to a dinner party of your dreams at your loft?M: Some combination of Rick Owens & Michelle Lamy, Cardi B, and Jane Goodall.
N: How is sharing a space with another creative?
M: It’s been really cool to carve out our own individual areas to be creative. Amy’s sewing work desk and nook is littered with her favorite artifacts, materials to play with, and works in progress. The best part is using our creativity to decorate and collect things we love and live with.
N: Favorite NOTO products?
M: The Deep Serum and the Room Spray of course.
